North of Seattle, rugged and wooded Whidbey Island in Puget Sound is a favorite with tourists and locals alike. At Bayview Corner, a farmers and artists market, public facilities were needed. Guided by the project’s benefactor, the architects designed this striking building, powering it with photovoltaic generated electricity and equipping it with Phoenix Composting Toilets. We at ACS found the project interesting and of merit, and were pleased to install our product in it.
Bayview provides proof that environmental friendly materials and devices are aesthetically compatible with architectural designs that eschew overt reference to “green” technologies and statements of social virtue.
