 Two
handicapped accessible toilet rooms and a utility room are located
above the ACQ treated permanent wood daylight basement in which the
Phoenix PF-201s are installed. The entire north facing roof is
glazed with double-walled Lexan (polycarbonate) to provide
well-lighted toilet rooms (photo, below left).
Also glazed with Lexan, the
south facing roof contains photovoltaic panels and solar heat
collectors. Decks and railings are constructed from TREX plastic
lumber for additional resistance to weathering.
Energy efficient lights
above each door turn on automatically in the evening to illuminate
the decks and ramps. Lights in the toilet rooms are controlled by
occupancy sensors. Gutters collect rainwater which is piped to a
cistern in the basement. Water from the cistern is pressurized to
aid maintenance workers in cleaning the toilet rooms.
